This Purple Grape Chalcedony obelisk 438g is 121mm tall and 38mm wide at its base. The matrix that supported the growth of this Chalcedony is present at the rear. It is UV reactive, suggesting its volcanic origins.
Purple Grape Agate is a rare botryoidal chalcedony and not a true agate. It is found in only one locality in Indonesia. The colour of the botryoidal orbs ranges from mid to deep purple. Sometimes they can have a blue, grey or green tinge. The orbs of this obelisk are large scale, 20+mm.
