This Elestial Smoky and Clear Quartz crystals with Calcite & Elbaite specimen is from Afghanistan. It weighs 496.5ct or 99.3g. It is a complex multi-crystal that has had a torturous formation. it is about 65*50*60mm. The Smoky Quartz and Quartz crystals are highly interrupted, striated and multi pointed. Small Elbaite crystals are interspersed throughout. There is a small trace green mineral present too plus Mica and Feldspar. Much of this formation is UV reactive. All of this make for an interesting specimen from Afghanistan.
Blue, Green and Pink Tourmalines are striking members of the Elbaite mineral family. Elbaite is an igneous mineral that almost always forms in granite pegmatites. It is a complex lithium-rich borosilicate mineral. Elbaite can be any colour of the rainbow, and crystals can be multi-coloured. Black is rare. Elbaite usually forms as heavily-striated elongated rods or prismatic crystals.
