This Charoite obelisk weighs 835g. Charoite is unique and rare. It is an opaque white, lavender, lilac, violet and purple stone with a pearly lustre. It was first described in 1978 and is found only at one location in Aldan, Russia. The Chary River is nearby; however, it was named for the Russian word chary, which means charms or magic. Charoite is a widely diverse mineral, containing potassium, sodium, calcium, barium, strontium, oxygen, silicon, and hydrogen. Its wide variation owes to its complex formation resulting from an igneous intrusion near a limestone deposit. It is formed of fibrous interlocking crystal masses. These are mottled, veined or swirled. Charoite has a remarkably high energy vibration.
