These two Sodalite polished cabochons measure 13*17mm to14*17mm. They weigh 2.7g to 2.9g each and weigh 5.6g, or just over. These cabochons were crafted in Pakistan from locally obtained Sodalite.
This mineral is named for its sodium content. Sodalite is found as vein fillings in igneous rocks that formed deep in the Earth’s crust. Sodalite is opaque with a vitreous or greasy lustre. The best blue shades of Sodalite are found in deposits alongside white Calcite. Sodalite is a stone of insight and mental enhancement, stimulating thought and communication.
