This large, long Zoisite obelisk is a beautiful example of this rarer calcium aluminium silicate hydroxide mineral. Zoisite is its own group of minerals. Zoisite is usually found combined with other minerals, most commonly with Ruby, found abundantly in this obelisk, along with quartz. It is formed from the metamorphosis of alkaline igneous rocks. Zoisites can be found in a green and black striped or spotted pattern. The presence of chromium and vanadium is what gives it the green colour.
