This Quartz dyed yellow geode weighs 148g. The geode has been dyed or electroplated giving it the unusual colour. Geodes grow within a hollow in a host formation, from solution. The crystals form pointing inwards from the edges of the hollow. Agate and other members of the quartz family commonly form geodes.
