This item is an interesting natural crystal specimen from Afghanistan. It is a gradational multi-coloured Green Tourmaline crystal on a Calcite matrix. It was obtained for Rocks and Things by our Karachi-based partner, Lawrence Handicrafts.
Green Tourmaline is a member of the Elbaite family. Elbaite is a complex lithium rich borosilicate mineral and member of the Tourmaline family. It crystallizes in the form of elongated rods or triangular and pyramidal crystals. It is usually associated with Quartz. Green Tourmaline is a powerful heart-activation stone.
