Marble from Pakistan

This Marble hand-carved Cat 88*58*130mm weighs 676g. This stone is sometimes called Red and White Jasper. The term jasper is most usually used for silicate minerals. This stone however is a marble. This mineral is metamorphised limestone, originally formed from the preserved remains of organic life. Why this stone is called jasper is the striking patterning and color of this stone found in Pakistan.
