This large Mangano Calcite hand-carved Dragon 952g was skillfully created by Lawrence Riaz. He crafted it from stone found locally in Pakistan.
The dragon symbolises: power and strength; good fortune and prosperity; wisdom and knowledge; and nobility, amongst other qualities.
Mangano is a calcium carbonate mineral containing a minimum of 30 per cent manganese carbonate. The calcium and manganese carbonates can be banded. The presence of manganese makes Mangano Calcite react to ultraviolet light, giving it a bright hot-pink glow.
