This stylised crocodile was sourced from the wonderful local Mangano Calcite and artfully crafted in Pakistan by Lawrence Riaz. Mangano is a calcium carbonate mineral containing a minimum of 30 per cent manganese carbonate. The calcium and manganese carbonates can be banded. The presence of manganese makes Mangano Calcite react to ultraviolet light, giving it a bright hot-pink glow.
