These well preserved fossil shells were obtained in the Cadell Marl Lens found in Morgan, South Australia. The Miocene Epoch was the first part of the Neogene Period, lasting approximately from 23.03 million to 5.333 million years ago. It was a time of a generally warmer climate and continental drift to near modern positions.
