This is an unusual Watermelon Tourmaline. The Pink Tourmaline is fluffy compared to the compact flat dark Green Tourmaline. It is small and only 10mm tall at its maximum point. It was sourced by Lawrence Riaz when he travelled to the Gemfields of Afghanistan for Rocks and Things in 2023.
Elbaite is a complex lithium-rich borosilicate mineral. Elbaite usually forms as heavily-striated elongated rods or prismatic crystals. Elbaite can be any colour of the rainbow, and crystals can be multi-coloured. Watermelon Tourmaline is the pink with green variety.
