The Fenster crystal can be truly wondrous. They grew fast, leading to chaotic elestial formations having complex interior structures. A Fenster quartz has many chambers, phantoms and windows within the crystal. This gives the crystal its name. From German, ‘Fenster’ means window. These windows are triangular planar formations within the crystal structure. The complex skeletal structure happens because the crystal has formed in unstable conditions, causing stop-start and irregular growth.
