This Black Tourmaline crystals specimen from Afghanistan is a showcase for this crystal in its natural form. The faces of the Tourmaline are highly glossy and translucent, which had me wondering if they were the rare Black Elbaite. I believe the Mica matrix is Lepidolite, rather than Muscovite because it is quite UV reactive.
There are also at least three tiny clear crystals with distinct faces nestling in the matrix, along with a more obvious Feldspar crystal. The clear crystals have striations, so I think these are tiny Lemurian Quartz crystals. They are not UV reactive, and they do not look like Kunzite or Topaz, which could have been other candidates. Any other thoughts or disagreements for this specimen are welcome.
