Ametrine is quartz variety that is a naturally occurring mixture of Amethyst and Citrine. The crystal has purple and yellow or orange sections. This is the result of variable oxidation states of iron, due to a zonal temperature gradient, during the crystals formation. Ametrine is a rare crystal, with most supply coming from a single mine in Bolivia.
